Web Programmer: (contract basis)

Brave Media Inc. is looking for a dynamic individual with a solid understanding of MySQL and Object-Oriented PHP. The ideal candidate will have a creative mind-set and at least 3-4 years of experience developing applications for the web using these and other technologies. Experience with e-commerce web sites is a must.

The candidate should have a good grasp of the concepts surrounding Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), and know how to administer such databases, tables, and their relationships. Time management and communication with our project manager will be key.

The candidate will be a motivated individual who enjoys a team-based environment, working on a variety of projects. The candidate should be flexible and comfortable with working on numerous projects during a given timeframe.

Key requirements:
3+ years experience developing web-based applications using object-oriented PHP 4.3 and one or more other independent technologies such as JSP, Java, Perl, or ASP
3+ years experience working under Linux
Expert knowledge of MySQL 4
Expert knowledge of XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0
Advanced knowledge of Linux web server administration (RedHat 7, Apache 2, MySQL 4)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and systems
Must have overall broad knowledge and experience building web-based applications
Expert knowledge on setting up shopping carts and implementation of merchant account

SOAP

Tasks/responsibilities also included:
Build dynamic websites based on provided creative (this would include programming and web production)
Upload and manage client data uploads, including data cleanup when necessary
Perform data mining queries on existing MySQL-based database
Develop shopping carts and implement them using different merchant accounts
